Cherry Chocolate Candy

Mountain States Pecan
November 2003 Recipe

INGREDIENTS:
2 CUPS SUGAR DASH OF SALT
½ CUP MARGARINE 1 TEASPOON VANILLA
¾ CUP PEANUT BUTTER 2 ½ CUP FLOUR, SIFTED
12 OZ CHOCOLATE CHIPS  (OR CHOC. ALMOND BARK) 2/3 CUP EVAPORATED MILK
12 REGULAR MARSHMALLOWS 6 OZ. CHERRY CHIPS
10 OZ. CRUSHED, SALTED CRACKIN’ FRESH PECANS  www.pecan.com 1 TABLESPOON MARGARINE

COMBINE SUGAR, MILK, SALT, MARSHMALLOWS AND MARGARINE IN SAUCEPAN OVER MEDIUM HEAT.  BOIL 5 MINUTES.  REMOVE FROM HEAT.  ADD CHERRY CHIPS AND VANILLA.  POUR INTO 9” X 13” BUTTERED PAN.  MELT CHOCOLATE CHIPS OR ALMOND BARK IN DOUBLE BOILER.  ADD PEANUT BUTTER, MARGARINE AND CRUSHED PECANS.  SPREAD OVER CHERRY MIXTURE AND CHILL.  TASTES LIKE THOSE ROUND CHERRY CHOCOLATE CANDY BARS.
